Michael D. Corey
Mr. Corey is a long-time Alaskan with almost 30 years of experience in civil litigation prior to serving as an Anchorage Superior Court Judge. Mr. Corey’s litigation experience has taken him to almost every corner of Alaska while representing individuals, municipal entities and corporations throughout the state. He has been admitted pro hac vice in major litigation in California, South Carolina, and Florida. He is exceptionally experienced in the resolution of significant personal injury matters and insurance contract disputes. Mr. Corey also offers his service as a neutral in Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Mr. Corey received a B.A. in Geology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1982, and earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego in 1985.
Admitted to Practice
Mr. Corey is actively admitted to practice in Alaska State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, and the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Corey is also licensed to practice law in Colorado (presently inactive).
Memberships, Recognition & Services
Mr. Corey received the highest rating available to an attorney, AV, by Martindale-Hubbell. He has served on the ethics committee for the Alaska Bar Association. Mr. Corey is very active in the community with 27 years of service as a youth ice hockey coach. Mr. Corey has also frequently presented at USA Hockey coaching clinics.
