
Jon (“Jack”) S. Wakeland

Mr. Wakeland grew up in Eagle River and returned to Alaska after completing undergraduate studies and law school in Oregon. Mr. Wakeland has represented Alaska clients for more than 10 years, focusing on oil and gas pipeline transportation, ad valorem tax, municipal law, and general civil litigation. Prior to joining BB&W, Mr. Wakeland worked at Walker & Richards, LLC.
Education
Mr. Wakeland obtained a B.A. in philosophy from Willamette University in 2004 and a J.D. from Willamette in 2009.
Admitted to Practice
Mr. Wakeland is admitted to practice in Alaska state courts and before the United States District Court for the District of Alaska.
Memberships, Recognition & Services
While in law school, Mr. Wakeland competed in moot court competitions, acted as a student assistant for legal research and writing courses, worked on land use issues for a legal clinic, and
clerked for the Oregon Department of Justice in the Government Services section. Mr. Wakeland is a member of the Municipal Law section of the Alaska Bar Association and has presented before the Alaska Government Finance Officers Association. He has completed the Pipeline Course on ratemaking offered by New Mexico State University’s Center for Public Utilities, and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners Utility Rate School. Mr. Wakeland has also provided pro bono legal services through the Alaska Legal Services Corporation.
